Re: Fully predestinated, called, and justified???

Mellontes, Well, I tried. And as you have done with others who have attempted to carry on a rational conversation with you, you have disappointed me with your non sequitur response. With you, I'm bowing out. Enjoy obfuscating. Period. Candlepower Good evening. Candlepower, you didn't try at all. Ob...

Re: Will a large revival precede the 2nd coming?

Good afternoon. In Young's Literal Translation, Matthew 17:11-12 says And Jesus answering said to them, `Elijah doth indeed come first, and shall restore all things, and I say to you -- Elijah did already come, and they did not know him, but did with him whatever they would, so also the Son of Man i...

Re: Is the Resurrection already past?

Rich, We are miles apart in understanding. You have used phrases such as "in some sense, hyperbole, and double fulfillment." You believe in literal songs and you see only the literal, cosmological planet and universe as being affected by the "end." You do not (or are unable) to see covenants. You b...

Re: Why do futurists teach the second coming...

Good morning. I have enjoyed these discussions taking place here. And you can count me in as being one who, for the most part, have followed and understood the train of thought that Mellontes and Allyn have presented. There have been instances that I've had difficulty with certain explanations they'...

Re: Is the Resurrection already past?

A great percentage were killed and the rest sold off into slavery for very low prices [Can't remember the Scripture reference regarding this, so if someone has it please let me know] . Deuteronomy 28:68 The LORD will send you back in ships to Egypt on a journey I said you should never make again. T...

Re: Is the Resurrection already past?

Good morning steve7150. For a pretty good study on the judgments of Jerusalem, please go to this study by Duncan McKenzie on the covenant judgements in Revelation. http://www.preteristarchive.com/Modern/2006_mckenzie_covenant-judgment.html He makes the pretty good case that these are describing in d...

Re: Is the Resurrection already past?

Good morning. I think it was a combination of Bible studies from Steve, Allyn, Mellontes, psychomike, and my own personal studies which turned me from futurism to preterism. It took a few years to break me. I couldn't deny the audience revelance issue, nor the many time statements throughout the NT....

Re: Questions for the non-full preterist

Allyn wrote: If today you came to believe that Jesus came already a second time and it took place before the end of the 1st century AD then how would this new knowledge affect you , your family and your church? As for me, I'd be wandering around aimlessly like a chicken with its head cut off. Alter...

Re: Is Satan's 1st Sin even Possible?

The same could go for "beginning" couldn't it ? "In the beginning" and "from the beginning" could both be referring to creation of our world/universe and it's possible that the devil was created before the world/universe and wasn't a murderer from "before" the beginning, isn't it? What does seem cl...

Re: Hello!

Goodevening everybody, It's been probably a year since I've written anything at the other forum, but I'm always reading and learning from everyone here. While I've never met Steve personally, I'd like to tell you how I was introduced to his teachings. A writer of two books, both of them on the tribu...
