What do Amils or Postmils believe is the mark?
Do they hold the papacy is the man of sin or something else?
Thanks,
Paula

GCS Lectures - Order to Study?
Hi Steve, Since moving to the Midwest, I have been doing alot of driving back and forth to PA and OH for our daughter's events, so I have listened to all the program archives and many of the topical lectures. I am hoping shortly to start studying through the GCS lectures. Should they be done in any ...

Re: 5 Theological Influences
The last months, I have been enjoying listening to the mp3 files of the radio broadcasts from issuesetc.org which is based in Collinsville, IL near us. They are conservative confessional Lutheran, very educated and interesting to listen to. Not the usual drivel you hear on evangelical radio or cynic...

Re: Greater Alton Church, IL
Ok, thanks Steve. I did not realize they are CofC. I didn't see anything on the front except the name and a quote of some kind. That looks like it; maybe I assumed the wrong time for meetings. I am on facebook but my privacy settings are pretty tight. Sometimes facebook messages get thru when nothin...

Greater Alton Church, IL
Steve spoke at this church in Alton, IL a year or so back before our family all arrived here. It is only 10 min. from our house. I have driven by it a couple of times but have not seen any cars there. The bldg. also needs some work. Are they still meeting there? Does anyone know when the meetings ar...

Re: Hell
If the security of the believer is conditional on abiding in Christ, why wouldn't immortality be conditioned on salvation? Isn't that a logical deduction? Plus the Old Testament doesn't make much if any statements about 'eternal life'. The promises of blessing are generally earthly. Isn't eternal li...

Re: What constitutes "reformed"?
Perhaps I should clarify. Mennonites/Amish like all christians read books in the popular Christian bookstores so they have had influence from other groups because of books, newsletters and Sunday School materials. We have been hanging around with plain Anabaptists since 1990. In Lancaster Co, PA the...

Re: Hell
Agreed. I only meant that for those who are to be punished it would precede annihilation if you hold that view.

Re: Hell
I am grateful for this discussion and Steve's book because I always found it hard to reconcile the eternal torment position with the verses about proportionate punishment. I have no idea there were other views. As they say, the victor writes the history, so that is probably why we have had one 'offi...
