Re: The Realistic Resurrection
just saying this was excellent, i like the pictures and text alot they really fit well with the talking. Steve has an excellent voice and is so easy to listen to, makes this a perfect witnessing resource video. Happy Easter.
Re: The Realistic Resurrection
I just finished a lengthy book by Mike Licona
http://www.amazon.com/The-Resurrection- ... surrection
He took a historians approach to the resurrection hypothesis
He did a good job of being honest about biases (toward Christianity)
But I think his work was very fair and his conclusions compelling
His argument was basically that there are some historical bedrock (things that basically all historians agree about).
And that of all the theories that have been put forward, only the resurrection hypothesis really makes sense of the historical bedrock.
He had a very good couple of chapters on the nature of historical research and whether or not 'miracles' can be considered by historians.

Re: The Realistic Resurrection
I'm glad you are saying "He is risen" rather than "He has risen" as several modern translations falsely render it.
It's parallel to the difference between saying, "My chicken has eaten" and "My chicken is eaten."
"He is risen" is tantamount to "He has been raised" just as "My chicken is eaten" is tantamount to "My chicken has been eaten."

I had a seminary professor who was careful to emphasize that Easter is about an 'emptied tomb' more than just an empty one.
