God’s love and your love.
Have you thought about God’s love for you? Have you thought about His commands to love Him and love your neighbor, your fellow man? Have you thought about His love for you in Jesus Christ, the love of Jesus for you, and what it means to be loved by God unto salvation? This is something your love can never purchase, but Jesus’ death did.
John 1:41, 49 NASB - 41 He found first his own brother Simon and said to him, "We have found the Messiah" (which translated means Christ). 49 - Nathanael answered Him, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel."

Re: God’s love and your love.
Great topic to bring up. "In this is love, not that we have loved God, but that He first loved us, and sent His Son as a propitiation for our sins." (1 John) We are commanded to love God, but our love for God will be proportional to our recognition and acceptance of His love for us, a love which is clearly manifested on the Cross. Perhaps the most consoling truth our Faith presents to us is the fact that the Eternal God loves each of us personally, and that He loves us not only with a Divine Love (although that is already saying very much), but even with a human love, with the love of a real, beating, human heart-- for Christ is God, and He, with His Sacred Heart, loves each of us, personally...from the first moment that His heart began to beat when He was in Mary's womb, even to this day, He has known and loved each of us personally with that beating, Sacred Heart of His. And all He asks in return is that we love Him in return...so, considering this grat love of Christ for each of us personally, to quote the great Francis of Assisi, can we not love Christ in return at least a little bit??!

as it was in the beginning, is now, and always, and unto the ages of ages. Amen."
as it was in the beginning, is now, and always, and unto the ages of ages. Amen."

I think that people often feel that they have a great love for God, while they are actually experiencing God's love for them.
