Karl Barth Audio: Evangelical Theology

Post by RickC » Mon Dec 08, 2008 10:19 pm

Swiss theologian, Karl Barth (1886-1968) made just one trip to the USA in 1962 and gave a lecture series.

Later, the lectures were made into the book: Evangelical Theology: An Introduction, (Grand Rapids, MI 1979). I heard the lectures about 10 years ago, borrowed from a library. They were so great! I had to get the book too (now on loan to a young, "up & coming" preacher friend of mine).

If I'm not mistaken, the series ran about 7.5 hours (awesome)! Two segments are free online. I don't recall where the first one below comes from in the order of the talks (methinks the Introduction?).

A 15 minute segment called: Commentary.
This has the above and a short excerpt from: The Community (Church).

This man inspires me so much I have to shout "Hallelujah!" (only T.D Jakes, A.W. Tozer, and maybe a couple other guys "make me have to do that" otherwise)....

I hope anyone interested will enjoy this. Book and/or audio series highly recommended.
Barth wasn't just a great theologian (or teacher), he rocked as a preacher! Thanks, :D
