Natural Selection and common descent

Post by mkprr » Wed May 15, 2013 11:05 am

My brother asked that I post his most recent video about natural selection and common descent here for comment. He made it a point to separate in the video what is factual, and what is theory and I think he did a fair job of that. Are there any parts of this video that you think misrepresent important information on the subject? Thoughtful criticism is welcome.

Thanks!

I think it is well done.

Like all evolutionary presentations, however, it seems to make the leap from the fact that some species share a descent from a common ancestor to the wild speculation that widely different types of living things (e.g., plants and animals; protozoa and metazoa; fish and birds, etc.) also share common ancestry with all others. This extrapolation is both undemonstrated and unlikely.
