Straight Forward Questions

Post by Joshua » Fri Nov 14, 2008 4:41 pm

I have a few questions that I would like a Latter Day Saint (aka Mormon) to answer. If there are any LDS out there that would be willing to answer my questions that would be great.

1. How many gods are there?

2. Did God work His way up to being God?

3. Can we (you, me, anyone) become a god?

4. Are the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and The Pearl of the Great Price all divinely inspired?

Thank you for your time in anwsering these questions.

The Book of Mormon: came about by the use of the Urimm and Thummim and the power of God, to be used for translating the very plates these stones had been preserved with.

The Doctrine and Covenants: Are 135 revelations and directives by Joseph Smith himself. Some are by use of the Urimm and Thummim, some by pure inspiration, some were mearly circumstantial. They are found in their entirety and in the context that they had been written in:
History of The Church; by Joseph Smith Himself (b.1805-d.1844)(HC). 8 volume set.
Are they divinely inspired as the Bible is?

If they are not divinely inspired as the Bible...does that mean the Bible has authority over them?

Does that also mean they could be incorrect?
