Straight Forward Questions
Re: Straight Forward Questions
Thought of another few questions.
1. Was God once a man?
2. Was He Adam?
3. Does God currently have a wife?

And is He flesh and blood like us.
Re: Straight Forward Questions
My questions was...does God currently have a wife? Not a human wife per say. For lack of a better term does God have a celestial wife?karenprtlnd wrote:3.Does God currently have a wife? Why God need or want a human "wife" I do not know. Male and female He created them. I do not believe God is "blind, bloody, and human", but that we are in the "image" of God.

Re: Straight Forward Questions
Granted I have only heard this is a belief of the LDS church.
Orson Pratt taught in The Seer (1853, pg. 158) that "the Virgin Mary must have been, for the time being, the lawful wife of God the Father".
Brigham Young also taught that "This matter was a little changed in the case of the Savior of the world, the Son of the living God. The man Joseph, the husband of Mary, did not, that we know of, have more than one wife, but Mary the wife of Joseph had another husband. On the manger, was begotten, not by Joseph, the husband of Mary, but by another Being. Do you inquire by whom? He was begotten by God our heavenly Father" (Journals of Discourse - Brigham Young Vol. 11, pg. 268).
I suppose this is where the idea came from.

Aren't LDS presidents considered prophets by the LDS church?
