A possum came into my family room through an open patio door and I found him eating the cat's food. I thought he was pretty cute and felt sorry for him when I startled him.

Did you remember, Michelle, that I had pet opossums during the time I was friends with your brother Eric? I had a bunch of them. I am one of the few that really like them. When I was older, I would catch them and bring them home to my kids. Since adult opossums never really tame down, though, we seldom kept them long before eating them—no, just kidding! We would let them go in a safe place.

Yeah, Steve, I remember that about you. I always thought it was strange to be fond of such ugly creatures, but up close I discovered they are kind of cute.

I prefer opossums to possums- much more beautiful animal!
