You guys have me more interested in this guy. I do anticipate a lot of disagreement, but maybe more agreement than I originally thought.

If someone is not familiar with Augustine’s writings and his biography here is a good first stepping stone to see if you are interested to read some of his writings. http://christianaudio.com/the-swan-is-n ... john-piper
John Piper portrays him in a positive way. (in audio)

Of course there are several things that I do not agree in his theology, but I personally red about half of the “confessions” and I can relate to so much of the things in my own life, I am really enjoying reading them.

Much agreed, Alex. In the long run, I have more appreciation for Augustine than beef with him.
