Searching for a phrase

Post by Paidion » Tue Oct 25, 2011 5:56 pm

Can one search for an exact phrase? For example, is it possible to search for the phrase "kingdom of God"?

Man judges a person by his past deeds, and administers penalties for his wrongdoing. God judges a person by his present character, and disciplines him that he may become righteous.

It may depend on what kind of search you are doing, but I think if you put quotation marks around a phrase most searches will search for the whole quoted phrase. Is this what you were looking for?

I have tried that dseusy. When you search the forum with quotes, you get the same results as you do without quotes.

Do you mean, searching in the forum? You can limit Google to just one domain by adding to your search:

site:theos.org

Then you can do any search Google can do, even if the forum's built-in search won't do it.
