Announcing the newest addition to the Schoel family

My wife and I have been in process and waiting for 2.5 years to adopt a child from China.

As of 2 weeks ago, we have been finally matched, with our new son.
His Chinese name is Hu Ruo Yu (i can't even pronounce it), but we've decided to name him Tobias, or Toby for short. He has cleft palate, which is probably why he was abandoned by his birth parent(s).

We still have 4 months of paperwork and waiting before we can pick him up.

We've created a blog to chronicle the remainder of our adoption journey, including, when the time comes, our travel to China to pick him.

That's really wonderful, Dave. You must all be very excited. I've had a look at your link & can see why you can't wait to hold Toby. Is he now in a government-run place, or is it a Christian organisation?

This is simply awesome. A couple from our church have adopted two daughters from China. They are now about 10 and 7. Beautiful little girls.

Is he now in a government-run place, or is it a Christian organisation?

He's in a government-run orphanage, but in a Western supported part of the orphanage specifically for special needs kids.
