Website has been revamped

Post by steve » Sun Apr 17, 2011 11:30 am

As you probably know, our website (http://www.thenarrowpath.com) has not had a facelift in over 13 years. I often received comments about how "old fashioned" it was. Sometimes people would offer to update it for me, but nothing ever got done. James Cateno, the son of "Jim from Connecticut" (a friend who used to call the show frequently) reworked the whole site for me and got it up and running yesterday. I am very happy with the improvements.

I like the new look! It's easy to navigate, as well.

How is Jim? I was thinking about him the other day, kind of missing his calls. Am I mistaken in remembering that he was battling cancer?

It's a great facelift! Excellently done, thank you to James son of Jim. 8-)

I believe he did have a scare, but, as I recall, he came out all right. I have had so many friends with cancer, I have a hard time remembering the details of the specific cases.

Looks nice -- I have a few usability suggestions if he's interested. Mostly, around viewing on smaller screens (moving content to the left instead of the right, etc.

Also, Life of Christ series seems to be missing.

Nice facelift, though. Thanks James (if you're around here).

Great new look, it's easy to find things, and I love the message implied by the path in the photo. Nice work!

Darin,

I forwarded your comments to James, and he wrote back the following:

The Current website width is 1164px with an 80px margin on both sides, bringing the total width of the content below the menu header to 1004px wide. With that being said, it fits the width of almost 100% of all end users. Also, Im not sure what content could be "moved" to the left considering every page is "centered" except the radio archive page which already has the menu to the left. Ultimately, the layout should pose no problem at all as it is now. Looking at the yearly screen resoultions, its only a matter of a year to 2 before even 1024width's are extinct...

Now, as far as "The Life of Christ"...I must have totally missed that section and I will work on it and hopefully have it up within a week or so
