I recently read an article explaining that the Chinese church has already been greatly impacted by the materialism that's come with the recent meteoric rise of China's economy. Chinese Christians, it seems, are as easily seduced and sidetracked from spiritual things by material things and materialistic culture, as are American Christians. Speculating on what the theological landscape will look like in 100 years, or 20 years, may prove more difficult than one might imagine.
