Judgment after death

I read a book some years back now called "Blumhardt's Battle a Conflict with Satan", and read it again recently and was wondering about some of the incredible things I read. One point in particular that makes me ponder how God works things out was the claim that some of the recent dead had "tormente...

Re: Input greatly desired

Aune, Revelation 17-22, 1090 wrote "Since the clause interrupts the thought of the passage, it may have been an annotation added at a final stage of composition" Beale, Book of Revelation, 1015, writes that 20:5a "is omitted by several good mss. because it was abrupt and seemed out of place or, more...

Re: Input greatly desired

Just a quick note that might be useful to you in your study. I found out recently that there is a textual variance in Rev 20:5a (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended) Interestingly, it is not included in the following manuscripts (Aleph, Ma Pt., g, i1/3, and ...

Re: Preterist Explanation of 1 Peter 2:12

Could it possibly be that Peter is just saying that by keeping your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, despite them speaking evil against you, they see your good deeds and this ultimately changes their hearts and become followers of Jesus and that come the "day of visitation" whatever that may be...

Re: Demonic possession of Christians

I recommend reading this short account of a pastor in Germany back in the 1800's.

This won't answer all your questions about demonic possession but it did enlighten me.

Re: Did Christ teach that we should watch for the end times?

Doug - How do you think your understanding of end times changes your everyday walk with God? I completely agree that we all should be looking and searching for truth, and praying that the Holy Spirit leads us down a path that will reveal the truth. I read a book by Kim Riddlebarger some years back t...

Re: Did Christ teach that we should watch for the end times?

Really good discussion. I have been reading this forum for some time now, and was fairly active initially, but realized I needed to learn a lot more before my opinion on a topic could be of value to others. I am still learning... I noticed this as well a few posts earlier, and also was hoping to lis...

Re: Gregg v. Preston Debate in Denver

I just finished listening to the two Podcasts by Don Preston and now I am even more interested in getting my hands on the mp3 of the debate. Thanks for taking the time to do these debates Steve. I would have loved to attend this one, but I was not able to work around my schedule to make it. I did ge...
