Re: Verse that refutes both Calvinism and Open Theism at once?

The best way I can get to know God is through His word, and when I read scriptures which suggest that he "tests" us in order to find out how we will respond, this seems to tell me that the choices we make are not already fixed, and that in certain situations God does not know what the outcome will b...

Re: The rest of the dead did not come to life.....

I am of the opinion that when we die, judgment occurs immediately. The verse in question would contradict that if judgment was to be postponed until the end of the millennium, assuming you believe as I do that we are currently in the Millennium (or at least close to the end of the Millennium). Readi...

The rest of the dead did not come to life.....

(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) It was interesting to learn that this section of Rev 20:5 is NOT in 2 of the 3 "best" manuscripts. (Sinaiticus and 2053 don’t have it, Alexandrinus does) Jame Parkinson says this about it. " In the Greek of Rev 20:5 the...

Re: "Seated in the Heavenly Realms"

This is an awesome passage. I believe it is letting the readers know (the orig. readers as well as us) that when we are "reborn" in Christ, we rule with Christ in the spiritual realm, right here and now, as well as in the ages to come. The practical application of this is amazing when we realize tha...

I would answer that God does indeed speak to them, but they just choose not to listen.

James Stuart Russell’s position

Hello, I have been reading up on James Stuart Russell's position and find it very interesting. I myself have never been able to reconcile the full preterist position and find James Stuart Russell's position a possibility that, at least at this time, I find very interesting and would recommend invest...

Re: The Day of Judgment for the Christian

I am not sure who here has read Blumhardt's Battle, but it brings up aspects of potential "punishment" after physical death that one might ponder. If you have not read Blumhardt's Battle (or the awakening) then I would recommend it. If nothing else it will make you think about this topic from a pers...
