Re: How does death...
Someone suggested that love takes a backseat to justice. I think a lot of people these days equate the concept of justice with punishment. To me, if justice reigns, there is no need for punishment because nothing wrong has been done, only that which is right. Justice is the opposite of injustice. T...

Re: The flesh is weak
My argument is that everyone is changed in the resurrection and no longer encumbered by the weakness of the flesh. Evidently, Paidion seems to believe we will still have flesh and blood in the resurrection, but even if that is true (which I doubt), Paul says we are changed - we will have a different...

Re: How does death...
Seems a bit shaky to me. While death (the first one) results in separation from our physical body, it is only because we cease to live/exist on one plane, so we only continue to exist where we have left to live. Separation does not seem to me to be the definition of, but a byproduct of death. But t...

Re: The flesh is weak
Todd, With regards to the "unpardonable sin" not being forgiven in this age or the age to come? How do you respond to this? As an Ultra-Universalist I see forgiveness differently. When one is forgiven, he is spared the consequences of his sin. If one is not forgiven, he must endure the consequences...

The flesh is weak
Preface I am a proponent of Ultra-Universalism, which is different from Christian Universalism. The Christian Universalist believes in a temporary hell after death for non-Christians, followed by the reconciliation of all to God. The Ultra-Universalist does not believe in a post-death hell; rather,...

Re: Types, Antitypes, and Universalism
The wrath that Paul refers to is the judgment of God that would fall on that generation, the first wave of which (represented in the first portions of the Olivet Discourse and the first seals of Revelation) was already present at the time of writing in 57AD. Doug I must apologize to Homer. It seems...

Re: Types, Antitypes, and Universalism
Could you explain how annihilation would be inconsistent with the many references to the wrath of God/Jesus? For example: John 3:36, New King James Version (NKJV) He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on ...

Re: Types, Antitypes, and Universalism
You asked essentially the exact same questions about a year ago in this thread ("God's Wrath") of yours, and there are several responses. Yes, I've asked this question many times to get people to think this through. Paidion has correctly pointed out the only possible answer. God must want/need reve...

Re: Types, Antitypes, and Universalism
For annihilation, we basically start with the eternal conscious torment model and say that when they are done paying they blink out of existence. For both parties it would be fair since they were tortured the right amount for what they did wrong. No one gets away with anything, and the punishment i...
