"Junk" DNA

On the first page of this discussion you (Atheist) made a comment about junk DNA. There is an article on www.godandscience.org about this junk DNA and how it may actually serve a purpose. I'm not sure if this issue has been addressed previously because I haven't looked at this entire thread. If it h...

What's the difference between #3 and #4? So far I'm the only one who voted for #3  Maybe I meant #4!? Well, I never taught my kids to expect stuff from Santa which was a little tricky because their cousins believed in him, plus they went to public school. I had to teach them about letting othe...

Anselm is the outstanding theologian of the medieval period. He sees man's primary problem as having failed to render unto God what we owe him, so God becomes man in Christ and gives God what he is due. You should read 'Cur Deus Homo?' Anselm...............................100% K...

Which story did you think was sad? I think that was a reference to the Carlton Pearson/This American Life story. That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure. Thank you, Mort, for posting that link, by the way. I listened to it today and I thought it was fascinating. I didn't think it was sad, but I am...

Only the 7th day adventists teach otherwise...Though I have been taught "hell" and burn forever, I dont believe that way anymore and I pray I am correct I don't think I believe that way anymore either, but I pray if I'm not c...

Hi TK
Mort Coyle wrote:The age of the earth no longer has any relevance to my theology, so I'm willing to go wherever the evidence leads.
Yeah, I can agree with that! Plus, I just can't make myself care that much....so I'd say 5.

Hi Homer, Thanks for answering. That was a good illustration. So, if I understand what you are saying, it's not how difficult it is, nor how fast you are at forgiving, there still is a "cost." A few years ago I sat through a sermon on forgiveness and it sent me reeling, although probably not the way...

The "Cost" of Forgiveness

In another thread Homer posted these statements: To my mind, forgiving always entails a cost for the forgiving party. If this is true, how would one internalize this cost? By doing penance or something? There is a "cost" in forgiving in that the Christian is forbidden from taking revenge in any way....
