Ely, I just read through this entire thread this morning... and it doesn't seem we've gotten much closer to answering your question. It is a good question and worthy of asking. I was thinking of saying, well.. since we pray in Jesus' name, and thus pray to or through Jesus, can't we also worship Him...

Jugulum, 1.) Who was Jesus literally speaking to when he spoke this verse, and what was the conversation about? -> Ethnic Jews who did not receive Jesus as their Messiah 2.) Who is "you"--who is Jerusalem?--and who is "your children"? Is there a difference? Are they supposed to be distinct groups, o...

Jim, Thanks for your reponse. I have not read any of DeWitt's article. In the video I saw Rob said something like, 'salvation is important, but' which erked me a bit. Not being very acquainted with all or Rob's views, but having watched 2 videos now, I think he may have just been trying to make a po...

Jim, The Lord's prayer can be interpreted as an invitation for the Kingdom of God (or Heaven) to be experienced here on earth. Hey.. great thread. I've been in kind of a blah spiritual period for awhile now... Often what gets me kind of down is that it seems that nothing exciting is happening... like, for example, I don't perceive that God is moving in people's lives, people aren't coming to Him (through my influence), etc....

Hi Stephen, The point is not whether or not the apostles were involved in OT Jewish religion (most Jews probably continued this when they became Christians, but didn't need to, and Gentiles who became Christians didn't need to do this). The new covenant made old covenant obsolete with Jesus’ death, ...

Good points Homer and Wayne, I guess I'm most interested in my kids seeing that God is real and how He influences our life then an understanding of the Gospel at this point. I realize that when my 2 year old exlaims 'Amen' at the end of a prayer, it is not really indicating any spirituality per se, ...
