Re: What if Adam didn't sin?

if unbelievers have so called "free will" why not give them the opportunity to repent , since God is long suffering and patient. What is the purpose of the devil blinding them , when they may still through their "free will" come to believe later in their life? The devil does not remove free will. B...

Re: What if Adam didn't sin?

Thanks for waiting for my reply. My basic point was that if God predestined that satan would tempt or whether he knew satan would fall in advance but didn't want him to, or even if he just reacted to the fall of satan not knowing he would fall, in each scenario God still controls the current temptat...

Me too. I've had that same thought before. People often try to defend their intellectual laziness by making it sound noble. It is like saying, "my mental effort is korban."

Re: What is sin?

it seems that you make reason the primary focus, whereas I am promoting that God's Word should be the primary focus. This is a false dichotomy. God is reasonable, therefore His words are reasonable. A reasonable God wrote reasonable words for a rational creature made in his image. I have been point...

Re: Oaths, Vows, & Promises

Maybe we are just ‘following the traditions of men’ when we go through the ceremonial practice of saying vows, wearing wedding gowns, usually immodest ones With the case of formal membership oaths – I am one of those who think formal memberships are questionable to begin with sadly... it figures ch...

Re: Oaths, Vows, & Promises

If the requirement of an oath implies that a person can not be trusted but somehow the oath makes them more trustworthy, then it is more than yes or no. I have declined to swear oaths in court for that reason. the law recognizes this and allows for a simple affirmation, same with being sworn into of...

Re: What if Adam didn't sin?

Whether God purposefully intended for it, or did not, is irrelevant. ... God is still in control and intends for man to be tempted. This sounds like "whether or not it was intended it was intended" But you brought up a point that I think is very important. I am still working through how to articula...

Re: What is sin?

Benstenson, If I'm ejecting from truth, it would be objectionable. Love is the greatest commandment of the Bible and you came up with your own definition for it. Do you disagree with the definition of love? What about it do you disagree with? You seem to have only advanced the fact that you sin as ...

Re: Regarding Christ's Deity

I tend to hope that there are sincere Jehovah's Witnesses who are true followers of Christ
I believe this is true. Some of them probably hope the same for us :)
