Re: Harmonization of Gospels

https://www.matthew713.com/charts.php

this is the first place I thought to look, I didn't see a "harmony of the gospels" in the list.

Re: Jesus is God

Hi Dizerner, I think I did explain enough to see why I called it equivocation both in the post you quoted and in my previous comment which Dwight said blurred the truth. I did not say that as a Unitarian, I am not one, but was pointing out what I see as a misuse of Jesus' teaching there in Luke 16 a...

Re: The strange endurance of substitutionary atonement doctrine

The whole point of the Cross is to marry the love and the holiness of God together without compromising or sacrificing either. This sounds like a pretty wild way to present it. God is one, his attributes are not boxes of thought or attitudes towards his creatures he must balance. To say he shows us...

Re: Jesus is God

You are very good at blurring the truth. The verse is not complicated, so why make it so? ... I don't think I'm complicating anything brother, I think you're repurposing what Jesus said to teach about the impossibility of serving both God and Mammon, awkwardly forcing some conclusion of Jesus being...

Re: The strange endurance of substitutionary atonement doctrine

Nearly every Christian in the west believes it, sure, but now and historically this only accounts for maybe half of all Christians. But still today, in the west, it is nothing like 95 or 99%. Some eastern Orthodox Christians have begun to support PSA in the recent past, but historically it was right...

Re: Jesus is God

Dwight,

This is a text book example of equivocation. No Unitarian advocates disdaining Jesus to only love and serve God the father. That's just not what they are saying, so your second statement is just false in the way you formulated it.

Re: The Person of the Holy Spirit

Hi dizerner, Apparently you CAN make sense of it. Or you got really, really lucky. :D There's a difference between deciphering the intention of words, and making sense of them ;) For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of G...

Re: The Person of the Holy Spirit

Hi Dwight, No, actually they cannot. How can you obtain righteousness, peace, and joy from something other than a person?... The apostle(s) do not say we "obtain" these from the holy Spirit, but these are in the holy Spirit. They are easily understood as coming from God himself. How can you grieve a...

Re: The Person of the Holy Spirit

Hi dizerner, Regardless of personhood? God is a Person, it would not be the same kind. I can't make much sense of what you wrote. Are you suggesting the only outcome by which we can say the holy Spirit is of the same kind as God, is if the Spirit retains God's personhood? If so, or else, can you ela...

Re: Jesus is God

Hi Dwight, ...Jesus raised Himself from the dead, and you think that that's NOT indisputable evidence that He is God?.. Are you here referring to Jesus saying he had the power to lay his life down and power to take back up again? Is this why you say he raised himself from the dead? If so, i think th...
