Re: Theological questions
I have to say Steve that our paths of understanding of Scriptue has many simularities. I was influenced by the Jesus Movement and have also traveled the same theological path to partial preterist amillenialism. Your answers and the expression of the why of your viewpoints are very edifying. I stand ...

Re: Emergent Church
Hey, you know, maybe I am the one who is missing it here. Rob Bell does pastor a huge chuch in Michigan and he has sold a lot of books and has done many interviews. He graduated from Fuller (C. Peter Wagner ring a bell?)...Perhaps I am just being a heresy hunter..."Of the writing of books there is n...

Re: Emergent Church
The true gospel of historic christianity would be, in my mind, the gospel that Jesus and the disciples proclaimed. As far as the emergent church issues go I am leary of new viewpoints of christianity that I am unfamiliar with and am, at first, always sceptical. I am not trying to tear down in a sens...

Re: Emergent Church
The following is from Bell’s October 2009 sermon I will say it again, and again, and again: It’s interesting how many traditions (pause) When you read the great enlightened ones; meditation, centering prayer, reflection—in every tradition you can find the mystics—and what’s always at the heart of th...

Re: Emergent Church
Well, take Rob Bells book 'Love Wins' for example, in which the idea that there is no hell and that it was wrong for Jesus to have died for our sins since God is so kind and loving he would have just saved us regardless, is propogated. The book 'The Shack' has raised quit a bit of dissent also in ma...

Emergent Church
Views anyone?...I find it a very strong apostacy lurking throughout and isidiously corrupting existing church members as well as making false converts, if there is such a thing. Frank Viola, who I have read much of, has teamed up with Leanord Sweet, a supposed proponent of emergent theology, in a bo...

Re: Witness Lee's "Local Church" on Bible Answer Man
I attended a portion of a Local Church service in Canada and had to flee with my wife and 2 daughters...Bizzare chanting of "amen" after every scripture read as a whole or in part. Watchman Nee would be turning over in his grave if he knew what Witness Lee has done to Nee's teachings...
