Thanks for the info! I'm sure he is a busy guy, and I don't catch him on the radio very often. I'll just wait for his reply ... or anyone else's.

degrees of sin

Somehow I assumed I was addressing Steve Gregg when I wrote the initial correspondence in this topic; but either I was mistaken, or Steve is not in the mood to reply. In any case, I'd like to open the inquiry to anyone interested in the subject. And let me add that I'm not trying to bash Catholics; ...

degrees of sin

Hi Steve ... haven't bugged you in a while so I thought I'd see if you are still willing to explain "milk" issues. I've been having discussions with Catholics about the notion of there being degrees of sin. If you have a copy of the "Catechism of the Catholic Church", you will find a complex organiz...

Intercessory prayer

Steve, Sorry to be so long in responding to your last reply. I'm trying to install Windows XP in a dual boot configuration on my computer and have a tiger by the tail. I guess when I have you repeating yourself, I should realize that either I can't comprehend your explanations or we have different u...

intercessory prayer

Steve, Have you ever tried any of the voice-to-text programs? I can't put my finger on one specific vendor just now, but I'll bet John Kent would know several. They may be affordable and would free up some time for you to learn Swahili or play the Zither. And thanks for the generous answers to my co...

speaking against the Holy Spirit

Steve, In a previous correspondence, you spoke of a sin leading to death, where "death" was to be considered a physical death. This brought to mind something Jesus warned about .... blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Matthew, Mark and Luke use slightly different wording but the message is the same ....

intercessory prayer

Lin, Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. I'm rather reluctant to discuss this issue with folks I don't know ... that is, I'm not sure how strong you are in your faith, and I don't want to cause someone to stumble. However, being on this forum does expose me to this danger and I suppos...

intercessory prayer

Steve, Getting back to the initial dialog (without waiting for your reply concerning the rabbit trail question).... when you address, "Does prayer really change anything?", my thoughts go to the prayer of Jesus prior to His crucifixion (John 17). Regarding intercession, Jesus as fully God and fully ...

intercessory prayer

Steve, Thanks again for your response! As an aside ... how do you produce your replies? I'm amazed at the quantity of information you present in text form. On the radio and in a school setting you speak lavishly, but to sit down at a word processor and compose lengthy and grammatically correct repli...

intercessory prayer

Steve, >It sounds like you have multiple related questions about the legitimacy, efficacy and necessity of prayer< That is true, but the type of prayer I have most difficulty with is intercessory. On the opposite end is prayer relating to my own personal needs and feelings. Talking (praying) to God ...
