Re: Confession
My wife and I, among other ways we serve, lead a small group study Wednesday nights. We have a strong aversion to practicing what many churches and other studies do, that being to push any particular view on a non essential. So for the last two studies we have used video based resources that work ve...

Re: Get your own show.
I agree with Steve most always and we do pray fully and financially support the ministry. However, I wonder if for every person attacking him on the air there aren't perhaps dozens listening who would also have serious issues with him. If this is the case then isn't it better that Steve is able to e...

Re: Eternal security
"If your wife or husband does something wrong to you or mistreats you, does that give you a right to divorce NO! God is the same way, except he works in us and through to bring us to our senses." While a marriage should not be broken lightly there are points where one can, and at some point perhaps ...

Re: A Muslim encounters Christianity
Nancy, I finished the book yesterday. Very, very good book. My Nancy is now reading it as well. I have added two more prayers to my already somewhat long prayer list, the first being that Nabeel's family will accept Jesus as their savior and the second that I will have some Muslims come into my life...

Re: Olson Blog on Universalism
I automatically receive the emails from the Patheos forum whenever Roger Olson posts articles there. I find him and Steve among the limited number of people who, and I don't feel this way just because I generally agree with them, make cogent arguments that avoid the constrictions of the traditionali...

Re: A Muslim encounters Christianity
Nancy, thanks for recommending the book. I just ordered the Nook version and look forward to reading it. My wife (also a Nancy), and I, have been involved with the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement and have heard a great deal about the moving of the Spirit within the Muslim world. Maybe s...

Mike, we live in Camas so maybe I could take you out to coffee or something to get to know each other. Would that work for you?

Re: This week's debate between Steve and James White.
Robby, I like the concept of what your are suggesting. However, since there are firm disagreements between believers there just may need to be a way to that involves some aggressive arguments. Like many things in our fallen world, debates may be an example of what is needed much of the time.

Re: This week's debate between Steve and James White.
The word "debate" has some negative connotations and perhaps the way a debate is typically conducted these may be justified. I would have preferred hearing Steve and Dr. White work strenuously to get to the truth. As I said, while Steve seemed to be trying to strive toward this end it wasn't recipro...

Re: This week's debate between Steve and James White.
I also have done some more looking and found this from John Wilkin, the editor of the Journal of the Grace Evangelical Society. http://www.faithalone.org/journal/2005ii/wilkin.pdf This society has been around since 1986 so it likely isn't a loose cannon within Calvinism. Hopefully it doesn't reflect...
