Helping someone in Portland, OR
Hi all - there's a woman (TC) I know near Portland that is needing help and prayer. Longstoryshort: she was abused terribly as a child, was on her own at 12, had a baby at 16, bad boyfriend got her on drugs and arrested for delivering for him, spent 10 years in prison for it, got out 4 years ago, re...

Re: Running a small business
Thanks! I used to be one of those holier than thou smug know it all Christians who thought because I didn't struggle with overt sins (drinking, swearing, fornication) I was better than others. I used to refuse to even buy alcohol for people when I took large groups out for dinner. I'm pretty embarra...

Running a small business
I'm an entrepreneur, and many times I've struggled in implementing my beliefs into various aspects of running a business. Currently, I'm considering hiring a homosexual for a job. He is a great guy, and would be perfect for the job. He is not "out" in any sort of public way, and in the 5 years I've ...

Re: baptism of the Spirit
Thanks so much! I live near Seattle... Which leads me to something else- I really struggle with our church home. It has really grown, and the amount of money and effort spent on production values is just stomach turning. To top it off, the Senior Pastor even refused my request to redirect my giving ...

baptism of the Spirit
I'm really new to forum, and am not a forum "guy". I've been wonderfully blessed by Steve's verse by verse teaching for the last couple of years. The scriptures are really opened to me in a marvelous way. I've been a believer for 25 years, I've even done some fill-in preaching. I'm a very moral pers...

Re: Misrepresented sexual past
Thanks, all. Haven't found what I thought I was recalling, but I must be suffering from inaccurate recollections. I agree that divorcing for this reason is wrong.

Re: Misrepresented sexual past
I agree that pursuing the divorce is not going to glorify God and shouldn't be done. I recall something basically saying that if after a husband discovers his wife was unchaste before marriage and didn't tell him he could divorce. Not trying to play bible trivia or anything- but I truly recall this....

Misrepresented sexual past
I recall that the bible indicated divorce was allowed when a husband discovered that his wife was sexually active before they were married. Now I can't seem to find it. Does the bible OK divorce if a husband finds out after he's married that his wife was sleeping with another man before they were ma...
