2 Thessalonians 2:8 Question

Thank you for your response. I agree that the little horn (growing out of Rome) does pertain to the papacy. My question is the seeming correlation of the overthrow of the "lawless one" with the Second Coming of Christ. I don't know that the papacy (though still active today) bears the same weight to...

2 Thessalonians 2:8 Question

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. I question many of the futurist interpretations of end time events related to antichrist (i.e. the necessity of a rebuilt temple, the necessity of a s...

Book of Revelation - An Exposition By Kevin Conner

Is anyone familiar with the book "Book of Revelation - An Exposition" by Kevin Conner? I respect Kevin Conner, formerly of Portland Bible College, as one of the best systematic teachers in the Body of Christ. I am curious about his perspective on the Book of Revelation (i.e. futurist, preterist, his...

Brian McLaren

I have read "The Secret Message Of Jesus", and I found it to be a very good book. I also believe that his intent to reach out to the post-modern generation using culturally appropriate methods is a good thing as well. My only concern about his message (and it is a big concern!), is that he advocates...

Brian McLaren

Can anyone confirm or deny whether Brian McLaren believes in universalism? If you listen to the 2 bleeding purple podcasts on the following web site, he appears to be a universalist in substance, if not in name. However, he is far more subtle about his beliefs than Carlton Pearson. He appears to lim...

Thanks Sean for the Greek text; it certainly paints a different (and clearer) picture of who "he" and "him" are. I respect the NIV as an accurate translation, but it doesn't convey in Daniel 9:27 that the judgment is "upon" the temple.

So far I am tracking with the following: 1. There is no stated scriptural basis to infer that a gap exists between the 69th and 70th weeks of Daniel's prophecy. 2. Christ fulfilled all aspects of Daniel 9:24 in His first coming, despite the fact that the nation of Israel rejected Him. to finish tran...

God's Plan For The Land Of Israel

The following is a position paper written by Asher Intrater, a reputable messianic leader in Israel regarding God's purpose for the land of Israel: http://www.revive-israel.org/sitepages/resources/articles/2006/ownership.htm If you have the time and/or interest, I would be interested in your comment...

The Regathering Of Israel In Light Of Isaiah 11:11,12

Thank you for your thoroughness in addressing this issue. One thing is clear to me, Christians have been historically guilty of minimizing the completed work of Christ and attributing too much to a future period. Like Martha we eagerly affirm “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the las...

The Regathering Of Israel In Light Of Isaiah 11:11,12

Isaiah 11:11-12 In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the sea. He will raise a banner for the nations and...
