Re: Christmas -- Naughty or Nice?
Satan is very clever ... remove one "s" from the Roman Catholic "Christ-Mass" and the world is deceived ... and much of Christianity.

Re: Why it is wrong for a strong Christian to celebrate XMAS
I was unable to log into this forum for a 24 hour period over the weekend ... from three different locations ... did any one else experience this problem.
All is ok now but I thought the site may have been hacked.

Re: Why it is wrong for a strong Christian to celebrate XMAS
Paidion ... your response to my challenge was as expected ... few give their biblical examples. You and morebo3000 are knowledgeable students of the Bible ... I am primarily a student of Revelation. I have seen two witnesses that appear “as dead”, I have found 24 elders that fit the biblical descrip...

Re: Why it is wrong for a strong Christian to celebrate XMAS
Thanks for your upfront answer regarding Revelation ... it is refreshing to hear someone say I don't know. I was a futurist for the first ten years, then further study led me to historicism ... my son in law pastors a very conservative Reformed Church and they are partial preterist in their understa...

Re: Why it is wrong for a strong Christian to celebrate XMAS
Yes ... I have a copy of Steve's 4 Views.
The historicists associated the second beast with papal Rome or the priesthood of the Roman Church.
I do not think one needs to be infallible to have an understanding of the book of Revelation.

Re: Why it is wrong for a strong Christian to celebrate XMAS
So, its all baloney ... the saints and martyrs of the Reformation and the Spurgeons of this world knew little about the book of Revelation in identifying the papacy with one of the beasts and Romanism as being the great harlot that has reigned over kings of the earth ... but you do? Please provide Y...

Re: Why it is wrong for a strong Christian to celebrate XMAS
If a present day Protestant believed as the Reformation saints and martyrs ... that the papacy was one of the beasts of Revelation, and that the Church of Rome was that great harlot church that had reigned over kings of the earth ... it should not be difficult for a serious student of prophecy to re...

Re: Why it is wrong for a strong Christian to celebrate XMAS
Steve, Perhaps if you were an historicist, you might view the situation from a different perspective. Regarding the image of the beast, the mark of the beast on right hand and forehead and the numbered beast, I believe these three things have come to pass and that "most" Christians are unaware. Most...

Re: Why it is wrong for a strong Christian to celebrate XMAS
Thanks Paidion,
That is the first time I have every heard that the literal word "mass" was literally associated with "birth" and not "death".
Perhaps someone else can reconfirm that when one states "merry Christmas" you are literally saying "merry birth of Christ".
