He also didn't obfuscate truth by using confusing language. He didn't attempt to reveal spiritual truths by using language that requires rules of grammar and mathematics to be broken.

The Trinity and Light

And neither do we speak of trinities. God, singular, could encompass the Trinity whereas "Father" would be singular and not speak of the Word/Son or Spirit. But in trinitarianism, God is indissolubly three, so it would be incorrect, and in fact misleading, when God (the trinity) said "I am He and t...

Re: The Trinity and Light

There are so many scriptures that lead to some sort of Trinitarian understanding that it seems the easiest to believe. I have not done the count, but I have read that singular personal pronouns are used in reference to God, whether by himself or by others, over 20,000 times in the Bible. A singular...

Jesus has a God?

How then do you explain this verse: 28 "Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. (Act 20:28 NAS) Seems like it could hardly be more clear or plainly stated. It would be ...

Jesus has a God?

But also the idea that all humans sin is found both in the OT and NT, how can you say then, that it only came about through church tradition? It would be a very strange thing if I thought that the idea of sin came from church tradition and not scripture. I can't understand why you think I said that...

I think you should go back and read what I said.

Jesus has a God?

You make it sound as though any man could have potentially served as this spotless lamb by living a sinless life. For all I know, maybe any man could have, but that is God's perogative and He chose Christ. Does scripture anywhere say that the lamb had to be divine? Honestly, I would prefer to know ...

Re: Jesus has a God?

Recently, I have been reading Servetus' views on Jesus. He has actually been historically miscast in his views. Though Unitarians and Arians alike claim him, he appears to be neither. He had some interesting thoughts. I'll post them as I have time. Regards, Brenden. Please do., I would like to read...

Re: Jesus has a God?

Trinitarians believe God himself has supplied the Lamb, That's true, God provided the Lamb, but he is not the Lamb. There is the Lord God Almighty who sits on the throne and the Lamb next to him. Two separate beings. One is God Almighty, the other is Jesus the mediator between God and creation. God...

Re: The Trinity and Light

Except the Spirit is given personal attributes and said to live in us. If we depersonalize the Spirit we contradict hundreds of scriptures. I have not read where anyone has depersonalized the spirit. I, speaking for myself, made it a point to say that the spirit of God is very personal. Did you rea...
