<AOMwrkg> you sit in judgement of God's word <AOMwrkg> that is arrogance beyond what I can see belonging to someone who holds it dear It is ironically possible that when we are quick to judge others we are guilty of this very thing Jas 4:11 Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one w...

As far as physical healing in relation to the atonement goes, i used to be dead set against the idea. But like I said in an earlier post, once I learned that AW Tozer did not discount the idea (very probably) as well as many other respectable, non- word of faith teachers (like Chuck Smith, e.g.) I ...

Danny Wrote According to hardcore WoF teachers (Hagin, Copeland, et al), if we have enough faith and make Positive Confessions we never have to be sick or broke. If this teaching is true, then Paul seems to have either been unaware of it or lacked the faith needed to benefit from it. I agree Danny, ...

Steve7150 wrote Paul's ability to use Positive Confession definitely seemed to be lacking. After all, Paul left his friend Trophimus sick in Miletus (2 Tim. 4:20) and his friend Epaphroditus got sick and nearly died (Phil. 2:19-30). OK and Peter denied the Lord three times, are these guys perfected ...

TK Wrote I understand where you are coming from here, but the problem is that while our words don't have magical powers, they can drastically affect our faith. If all i'm going to do is whine and complain about how bad i got it and i think i'll go eat worms, how can i pray a prayer of faith? Hi TK, ...

I think Jesus said something like "out of the abundance of the heart is what comes out of a man's mouth" , so it's inconsistent to want to have much faith and then say how worried we are. Isn't worry the opposite of faith , isn't it a lack of faith? Are unbelievers going to be moved by how worried ...

TK Wrote What do you all make of the following episode from Mark 11, with special attention to the underlined portions: Quote: 12 Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. 13 And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something ...

TK Wrote what specifically about the WOF movement would you say is heretical? This is for everyone, not just Darin. The reason I ask is that there is WOF, then there is simply "faith." I believe much of evangelical christianity has abandoned faith as depicted by the early church. We reason that "God...

Steve Wrote However, "an eye for an eye..." is not in any way a prescription for personal vengeance. To suggest that it was meant to be such is to entirely miss the meaning of the law as much as the rabbis did, whose teaching Jesus was refuting. "Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, etc..." is the consiste...

Danny Wrote I think perhaps the model that works best in our culture (and seems to have Biblical precedent) is the scattered/gathered paradigm (aka "house-to-house and Solomon's Portico"). That is, the church meets in homes throughout the area but then those "house-churches" also come together for ...
