Hi Michelle, I don’t think there is any danger or risk in missing out on what someone is saying or doing….even if it is from the Lord. I don’t think God wants us to have our eyes on men…even if they’re bang on. He wants us to have our eyes on Jesus, not following men around. If you have misgivings, ...

Dave, I was watching an interview on the internet this week and this particular verse came up. The person was saying that the making of mud on a Sabbath was forbidden in the Jewish Mishnah (A second century written record of the oral tradition that would have existed at the time of John 9). Notice i...

Rick wrote As can be seen with the Laodicean Council Canon (above); and at least in those churches who came under the Council's jurisdiction; only "canonical" (i.e., "standard") singers were permitted to sing. These would have been who we call the choir. That's interesting Rick. It seems that 150 ye...

Homer wrote I am curious what Pagan Christianity says about singing and music in the early church. I have been reading an apparently similar book, "A Gathered People", by Hicks, Melton, and Valentine. While relating that the main features of the earliest practice of the assembly were scripture readi...

<Tur8inFan> <slamreadw> darin: AOMin is charging you with holding the canon open, and that's not orthodoxy; it denis the +sufficiency of Scripture. I don't know who wrote this but this language reminds me of the Inquisition. You know, the time when open dialogue was not allowed but blind adherence ...
