Something in the Name?

Hello... I've noticed this before, but I took a closer look while studying something else. "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:18) "AND IN HIS NAME THE GENTILES WILL H...

Thanks Steve... Do you think it would be unwise to break off and start something new? Not for the purpose of trash talking any other church, but for the purpose of forming community. I suppose you can do that with a group even within the church, but I remember you saying that if you belong somewhere...

The Church and Sin

Hi Steve, you brought up some things on that other post that brought some other questions to mind. I've been to some large churches, Calvary to be specific. I honestly don't know anything different at this point. I know you use to attend Calvary also. I'm not hear to pick on Calvary, but my question...

That was very convicting Steve.

Lord lead us not into temptation.

You said a couple of things that brought up some questions. I'm not going to post it here, I'll post it in: Church Life.

I wouldn't worry about the church enforcing anything. I'd be more concerned with the fact that God will judge each man according to his deeds.

I am not sure what you mean by "actively involved". I mean: I believe God is always involved in our lives. He is perfectly capable of bringing about His desired result through providential means without overturning or interfering with the laws of nature. For example, a good father may continually o...

This may have always been, but I've noticed if I'm typing something and it takes several minutes, I'll try to submit and have to log back in. After a few times of this, I've learned after typing to make a back-up copy of what I've written before I post.

This is great, this conversation has turned into encouragement. Sharing of the Lord goodness. Well, I'm not quite sure that God doesn't actively involve Himself in our lives. I haven't read Paidion view yet, but I'd like to. I can only speak for what I have experienced. All I can say about it is, it...

Are we saying that it is God's desire to "micro-manage" our lives? Is that biblical? Seems almost Calvinistic to me. The principal thing is to seek only the will of God and then to be resigned to what may come to me in that pursuit. It is the simplest of all Christian duties. Of course, knowing wha...
