Re: Can Truth Telling Be Sin?
I remember when I was a kid we had a book by Fritz Ridenour (I think) that was essentially a critique of Joseph Fletcher’s situational ethics. I’m actually kind of shocked I can remember that being as I have not seen that book in over 45 years. I remember looking at it because of the illustrations. ...

Re: Can Truth Telling Be Sin?
It would seem lying for an immoral reason is always sin, but otherwise may not be.

Resurrection accounts harmonized
Quite a long time ago Steve G posted a proposed harmonization of the various resurrection accounts. I had this for years but have now misplaced it, and my search of the new and old forum has been fruitless, probably because I am not an expert forum searcher. If anyone had this or a link to the origi...

Re: (Seemingly) strange applications of OT prophecy in the N
//As it happens, I broached this topic again with my wife tonight, it having been months since our previous discussion on this topic. I pointed to the "out of Egypt" example, and she responded by smiling, saying how neat it is that the Old Testament prophets could be speaking about Jesus without eve...

Re: "No, I Don't Forgive You"
I don’t know Paidion- your position seems to take things a tad far. Forgiveness in my mind seems to entail letting go of bitterness and anger towards a person. It does not require trusting that person 100%. Your position might be applied when only you are affected but when you are responsible for ot...

Re: "No, I Don't Forgive You"
One time when I asked someone to forgive me, that person said, "I forgave you a long time ago." Somehow, because of the manner in which the person said it, I felt it to me an insult rather than a mere statement of having forgiven me. What are your thoughts? This begs the question of whether you can...

Re: Jesus had Incorrect Opinions?
I wonder if he would hear “laurel” or “yanny?” That would solve the debate. But, it is “laurel.”

Re: Jesus had Incorrect Opinions?
Jesus was human so I’m my opinion he made mistakes that did not amount to sin. I think he may have missed a cut or two in the wood shop. He may have made a mistake in his school work. Some people freak out about such thoughts but it doesn’t bother me at all. I have often questioned his judgment in n...
