Re: Universalism and the Patience of God

6. He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. 7. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the gr...

Re: Reflections on re-reading these threads

For anyone interested in reading an informative paper on christian universalism check out bibletruths.com and the series of articles toward the middle of the page called "The Lake of Fire Series." Don't be turned off by the author's position on "free will" because he is not a Calvinist, he simply be...

Re: I Timothy 4:10 and Universal Reconciliation

I think that "aionios" means either "permanent" or "going from age to age." I didn't invent the idea that those in the Lake of Fire (at least some of them) may be there for millions of years. Here is how I came to that conclusion: ...and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of f...

Re: I Timothy 4:10 and Universal Reconciliation

That influence will certainly include the very severe judgment in Gehenna, which may take many ages for some (or all) the people who go there. I am sure this judgment will differ in intensity, according to one's opportunity to know Christ. But we can trust God to be perfectly just in that matter. G...

Re: Is UR fair to those who believe NOW?

" It doesnt seem fair that a person who makes the choice to follow Christ now will, in the end, receive no greater reward than those who reject Christ in this lifetime and only accept him after ages of "correction" in hell." Why would there be no greater reward? I think the true believer in this age...

Re: Who are you planning to vote for?

I don't want to be facing Christ on judgment day and have him ask me why i supported a candidate who supports the killing of babies. Maybe i can say i thought i'd be better off economically under O'bama!
No i don't think so, therefore i'm voting for McCain.

Fireproof

Fireproof starring Kirk Cameron is an outstanding movie contrasting cultural views of marriage verses the biblical view. It's believable, funny, touching, emotional, action orientated with some prosylatizing I was'nt bored for one minute and found it deeply inspiring and give it my highest rating. Try a...

Did it take Noah 120 years to build it?

It's commonly assumed that it took Noah 120 years to build the ark and the logic goes that if it were only a regional flood Noah would'nt need so long to construct an ark. The 120 yr period is mentioned in Gen 6.3 "My spirit shall not always strive with man, yet his days shall be a hundred and twent...
