Re: Jesus is God

On balance, I lean away from any unique separate pre-existence apart from the Holy Spirit - recognizing if the Holy Spirit fully indwells Jesus, then there's some sense in which it can be said to be "his" Spirit and so talking about such things becomes difficult. The way "most people" think of pre-e...

Re: Jesus is God

Darin, Do you believe in the preexistence of Jesus? I am unsure, perhaps a memory problem. That's a difficult question. It's normally couched in terms not of the pre-existence of Jesus, but pre-existence of the Son (or even Christ). There is a lot of nuance between those three. I do not believe in ...

Re: Jesus is God

Well, that's pretty rude, but your point is also not relevant. There's nothing rude about claiming someone is wrong. Or you are just as rude as anyone, since you call a lot of people on here wrong. So it's a hypocritical double standard and unfair accusation. And the point was completely relevant, ...

Re: Paul., Jesus, Lord & Yahweh

Jesus had the power of the Holy Spirit and the guidance of the Father, but do you seriously think his lordship wasn't as a direct result of his obedience unto death? Call it what you want, but his life wasn't a "puppet show."

Re: Paul., Jesus, Lord & Yahweh

Most if not all of these OT passages above actually don't say Lord in the original text. They unequivocally say Yahweh - the NT passages do not. It is not by accident that no passage refers unequivocally to Jesus with the word Yahweh. He is the Lord - made such by Yahweh. His authority is lordship. ...

Re: Paul., Jesus, Lord & Yahweh

Romans 10:8-13 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the hear...

The Nature of Christ is this : “I AM” made Himself a (true) “i am” and lived among us.
I don't really understand what that means and I'm not sure how it bears on the "dual nature" discussion, but where exactly does God call himself simply "I am"?

Re: Jesus is God

This is just not the way one would write about the relationship between God and the Son if the Son was God. You do realize the Bible clearly teaches Jesus gave something up? So you are wrong. Here's a classic debate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4joi2P9lupw Well, that's pretty rude, but your poi...

Re: Jesus is God

Could anyone explain why the Lamb of God (Jesus) in Revelation 5 DOES NOT bow down and worship the One who sits on the throne (God the Father)? Millions of angels, the four living creatures, the twenty-four elders, and every created thing in heaven and on the earth and under the earth, and all that...
