Re: When was the Trinity revealed?

Also, Justin Martyr (A.D. 110-165) in his Dialogue with Trypho , quoted Genesis 24, indicating that the Father and the Son share the name "Yahweh." Then Yahweh rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from Yahweh out of heaven. He said that the Yahweh on earth who talked with Abraham was the So...

Re: Foreknowledge = Determinism? And God's Character.

The difference is that God could not miraculously create a stone so heavy that He could not lift it, nor could he miraculously create a square circle. He cannnot miraculously create something that is internally illogical (not sure if internal is the right word there). However, there is nothing inte...

Re: Foreknowledge = Determinism? And God's Character.

... there's nothing illogical, or self-contradictory at all about a virgin birth. It is simply contrary to the laws of nature. Hello again my friend, How can you say it's not contradictory and then say it is contrary? The only way to justify this statement is through dichotomization of the supernat...

Re: Foreknowledge = Determinism? And God's Character.

For instance, believing in miracles is a “sound position” but they’re also a prime example of irrational/illogical processes to our realm of existence; because, they break every law or rule known to man. I contend the supernatural is irrational against the known laws of the universe, but aren’t the...

Re: Foreknowledge = Determinism? And God's Character.

While any sound position surely needs Scripture to back it up, it needs to be logically sound as well. Hi Si, If God put man in a confined or bordered world/existence bound by laws, rules, and discernable/repeated consequences, then, logic can only be ascribed to the limitations of this known exist...

Re: Calif. Assembly Bill 2943

Many in our “fractured” society are openly opposed to the mere expression of biblical truth about sexuality. Part of the gospel message is the clear proclamation and recognition of sin. Without this, Christ's provision on the cross for our sins makes no sense; only with the admission of sin can we ...

Re: A little look at Giants

Just some information, Robby. Contrary to what Jude and other early Christians affirmed, the book of Enoch was NOT written by the historic Enoch, the 7th from Adam. At first, I was very excited to obtain a copy of Enoch, since Jude had quoted a passage from it and regarded it as authoritative. But ...

Re: A little look at Giants

Although I appreciate Steve's conservative and even cautious narrative on the subject, I'm curious as to why the 1st book of Enoch wasn't referenced regarding this matter. Should the status quo opinion dismiss any alternative biblical reasoning? Unless I'm mistaken, the 1st book of Enoch was quoted ...

Re: Confusion about the Exodus

Robby- do you think pharaoh understood a temporary exodus or a permanent one based on the way Moses spoke to him? Hi TK, Temporary. But, Pharaoh was under God's judgement. God hardened his heart so that he would not entertain even a temporary exodus (Ex. 7:3) . Thus, as a vessel of dishonor, he was...
