Re: Movie: Lord, save us from your followers

Sean,

I watched that movie on Netflix recently as well. I was expecting an anti-Christian message and was getting ready to poke holes in it (for exercise of course :D ). I was surprised to find out that it really ended up resonating with me in many ways.

Re: Audiodoctrine website is down

Hi Jarrod, Sorry, I haven't gotten around to sending you some screen shots yet, but what you have here is not too far off at all from what I had. I think yours looks better and fits the layout of this site much closer. One thing though, many of the other sites that I had links to have changed (John ...

Re: Where does the Bible say to take it to the Scripture?

I guess I don't get the thrust of your argument. I assume that you're arguing for the progressive revelation of God through the authority of the Catholic church? So then, what ought the Bereans have done if they found Paul and Silas' arguments inaccurate or inconsistent with scripture already reveal...

Re: Where does the Bible say to take it to the Scripture?

So Tom, what does it mean that .... Acts 17:10-11 10 Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, an...

Re: Difference Between Men and Women

Hi Homer,

Didn't mean to post and run like that...sorry.
Whoa. I do not mean to imply men are more intellectual, but that they are less emotional.
Sorry, I didn't mean to put words in your mouth. But that is the generalization I usually hear.

Re: Difference Between Men and Women

Interesting theory Homer. But it would seem to me that history tells us that the cruelest people of all time have been men in leadership. Also, didn't Paul tell us why men are appointed to leadership? 1 Tim 2:12-14 12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in...

Service ministries

Hey all, I'm compiling kind of a starter list for myself and my church community of local service ministries for people to get involved with if they feel so led (Christian or non-Christian). I'm looking for feedback on your favorite hands-on service/helps ministries in your area (perhaps they have a...

Re: "Charismatic" experience

Thanks TK for your humility and honesty as well. But at the same time I dont want to be totally closed minded to the supernatural. God is supernatural, after all. I think that perhaps there was a lot of "woo-woo" type stuff going on in the early church that isn't specifically mentioned in scripture....
