Re: Lk 22:36-- Jesus's instructions to buy a sword
Paidion, I appreciate all the effort you put in that last post, it almost makes me want to cave, especially because if it turns out to be a spiritual lesson Jesus is talking about, I would want to know it. But I'm not surprised that it might be rare for the utilitarian to be rarely mentioned if at a...

Hi Steve 7150, how's it goin brother? You wrote: " Even a small knife would contradict everything Jesus had previously said about not resisting evil, about turning the other cheek about forgiveness. I think the sword must be symbolic." (Sorry I can't make my posts look better with more proper spacin...

Re: Lk 22:36-- Jesus's instructions to buy a sword
I heard somewhere, can't remember where that the word sword back then could also mean a eating utensil type of knife (perhaps even big enough for butchering).

Re: Alcohol & Welfare Programs: Topics on today's show
Steve 7150, you wrote: "The crux of the problem with liberalism, socialism, welfare state societies is that they don't accept the human condition which left to it's own devices is like water, which will over time find the lowest level." I am not a liberal or a socialist etc. I am I suppose an ideali...

Re: Baptism and Mark 16
Thank you Paidion for your reply, You wrote," If a true baptism is taking place, then within him, he is dying to the old self and that old self is being buried — gone for good." This happened to me Paidion two months before I was baptized when I received the testimony of a converted criminal who was...

Re: Baptism and Mark 16
Hi jriccitelli, I agree with your last post but I would add: though the inward baptism is the real baptism there is a commandment to baptize and many examples of new believers being subsequently baptized, therefore new believers (or not so new believers who haven't found a worthy baptizor, or haven'...

Re: NEW Great Commission School—THIRD MODULE
Thanks for the update Perry, I feel more relaxed for you all for it. It would definitely be a priority for me to go if I was physically able to be up and sit for longer periods of time, and travel, etc. ( back pain and spasms). I'm with you in spirit though and I do appreciate these updates you've b...

Re: NEW Great Commission School—THIRD MODULE
Hi Suzana, I hope it's alright if I butt in re: your post :) While I wish very much that I was able to be there and that I were able to attempt your very admirable efforts to complete such an ambitious work, I realize I can't do it. Most of all, I would just like to be there with you all. I am prayi...

Re: Did the centurion speak directly to Jesus?
Hi Paidion, let's see if I can keep this all straight. Yes, I think the centurion spoke directly to Jesus, after the elders, then the friends spoke to Him. I don't think it implausible that the centurion and his friends said almost the same thing as the friends and he probably discussed what would b...
