Topical lecture on the New Age?

I could have swore Steve had a lecture about the New Age under his Topical lectures. Not finding
it now? I'm pretty familiar with the subject, but wanted to revisit that lecture again.

Thanks psimmond. I popped over to your site and particularly enjoyed your piece on "Stop saying 'God told me'". I agree. I hear this all the time. One should use that phrase very rarely, if ever.

Re: Any lectures about the "Hyper Grace" movement?

Jepne and John6809, I agree! By the way, I am really enjoying this Kingdom of God lecture series. Listened to the 8th lecture (Kingdom of Grace) and liked it so much, I have started at the beginning with the first one and think Ill try and work my way through them all. Good and enriching stuff!

Re: Any lectures about the "Hyper Grace" movement?

John6809, The "Kingdom of Grace" lecture (part 8 of the Kingdom of God series) you suggested definitely tackles this topic directly. Thank you. Maybe it doesnt address the movement, but the principles behind it. I will have to give it a second listen because I tried to listen while I was working tod...

Re: Any lectures about the "Hyper Grace" movement?

Thanks mattrose. That is a good way to understand it. For 3 or 4 years now, I have been in the camp of the "grace-based" ministries. I've read the critics saying, "Beware, it is just a license to sin!". And I guess that could happen depending on how one approaches the issue of grace. I can honestly ...

Any lectures about the "Hyper Grace" movement?

I skimmed through Steve's topical lectures, but wasnt sure that I saw something that addressed the topic of "Hyper Grace" directly. But maybe it is addressed indirectly. The term is usually used by it's critics. Anything you dont agree with, just make it sound "extreme" by adding the pejorative term...

Re: Preferred Bible Translation

I prefer dynamic (thought-for-thought) translations as I actually think the best of them do a better job of communicating the intention of the biblical author. I actually like the NLT best. But I do agree that Bible students should utilize both word-for-word and thought-for-thought translations in ...
