Re: Debate "Is the Sabbath Binding in the New Covenant?"
I guess I don't care if they keep Saturday or Catholics keep Sunday. .... I guess I just didn't see what difference it makes. That's kind of my view, too. I can't understand why it makes much difference to some people (though I guess I understand that some just believe that God commanded it, so it ...

Re: Debate "Is the Sabbath Binding in the New Covenant?"
Isn't the definition of what constitutes the seventh day of the week kind of arbitrary? God didn't invent the day "Saturday", Anglo-Saxons did. It is named after the Roman god Saturn. Sunday and Monday are named after the sun and moon, and the other days after Anglo-Saxon gods. This is not a biblic...

Re: Debate "Is the Sabbath Binding in the New Covenant?"
I enjoyed the debate, though there wasn't really much debating. Both men presented and conducted themselves well, I think. It's been a few days, and I only listened once, but this is my take (without getting into the debate topic itself): Doug's presentation seemed a little more emotional, plain, an...

Re: Literally 6 Days
The Cassini spacecraft that went to and crash landed (as planned) on Saturn gave several indications that our solar system is not that old. Saturn has a powerful magnetic field, but magnetic fields lose their power over time. Evolutionists suggested that Saturn's magnetic field is maintained by an ...

Re: Literally 6 Days
You are right that it seems inconsistent but in my own mind there is a distinction. When God created Adam and Eve and the animals he had to choose whether to make them babies or full grown. For practical reasons he could not create them as babies because there were no adults to feed and nurture the...

Hi Singalphile, You wrote: That doesn't make sense to me. In fact - strong language warning - that's ridiculous! Going beyond "the perimeter" is the temptation, and you cannot satisfy the sinful desires within the perimeter. If you could, they wouldn't be sinful desires! I must say I am taken aback...

I will. Thank you. I listened to a bit of the Tozer reading a couple days ago.

Hi TK, Long ago, reading Charles Finney, and perhaps others, I think I got a lot of help in this matter. The idea is that God has established a perimeter beyond which we sin. We can satisfy the desires of the flesh within that perimeter. For example, if we are hungry, eat but do not be a glutton. S...
