It’s been a while since I’ve listened to one of Steve’s verse by verse teaching and I’m really enjoying this one- Luke is my favorite gospel.
Already learning a lot— in particular I had never before considered that Gabriel’s “muting” of Zacharius was not a punishment for doubting. I always bought into the idea that Gabriel punished Zacharius for doubting (or his tone of voice) but did not punish Mary for her similar statement because she was not doubting but simply asking for more information. Steve’s feeling that the muting was a sign to confirm the word given seems very plausible.
