I`m not trolling you. This was seriously implied by one man in the comments section of a youtube video uploaded by Canon Press that showed Doug Wilson critiquing some jibes John Piper`s son Abraham made on a Tiktok post. The poster blamed Abraham`s hostile rebellion against the Christian faith on the fact that he was brought up Calvinist. There might actually be some truth in this. The poster went on to explain why Calvinism was wrong. I agreed with all he wrote except up to the point where he equated Calvinists with the accursed in Galatians 1 v8-9 because they preach a "false gospel". I baulked at the idea and cited George Müller. How could such a man end up in hell? (and he had to add "for eternity" for good measure). George Müller`s thousands of answered prayers were summarily dismissed, citing even Wikens having their prayers answered by their gods so what did that prove?
Is Calvinism works-based like Judaism was? Is damnation to hell implied in the curse anyway? Just wondering what your thoughts are

Well, I'm with you on George Muller - only God knows his heart, but his fruit is aplenty. Thankfully, I don't believe our eternal fate rests on the rightness of our doctrine beyond believing on Christ and trusting in His redeeming work. It is a matter of the heart more than the mind. But... doctrine does matter and can certainly lead to a bad heart. I believe my descension in Calvinism as a young man was leading my heart to a dark place of doctrinal arrogance and fatalism, though Muller is a good example where that might not be inevitable. I guess "dangerous," but not deadly. Though I might suggest that a more Arminian-bent Christian might have the same tendencies and danger in falling into antinomianism which could also be a risk to salvation on the other end of the spectrum.

So, I believe that doctrinal humility and measuring the heart and our attitude about Christ as our Lord is the key.

good reply Darin thank you; and interesting coming from an ex-Calvinist.
The man who took this position is, I hope, a rarity. And he was condescending to the point of being abusive to me and to several others. We were "peabrains, clueless, imbeciles" next to him apparently. The application of that Galatians passage to Calvinists was just so so obvious as far as he was concerned. Lord, please deliver me from some of your followers...
