Revelation 12

Post by _mattrose » Tue Jan 17, 2006 10:22 am

What do you guys/girls think of the view that says Revelation 12 describes satan's existence b/w the cross and AD70 (thrown out of heaven, in rage on earth) whereas chapter 20 describes his existence from AD70 till the end of the millennium (tied up in the abyss)?

This seems to explain why 12 is described as a 'short' time and 20 is described as a 'thousand years'. It also helps deal with the contrasting state f satan in these 2 chapters.

I agree with the second part (se7en)

Sometimes I have wondered if the Beast that comes out of the pit spoken of in Revelation 11:7 is the same period of time spoken of in Revelation 20:7.

Otherwise, how is he/the beast coming out of the pit, if he isn't put there until Revelation 20:3?

You are confusing me with the "b/w" . Please explain what you mean by this. Sorry for my own ignorance.

Thanks for the "b/w" explaination mattrose. I 'm not a preterist on this issue. I believe Revelation 12 is mostly describing future events so I won't be much help to you. I've been listening to "The Narrow Path" radio program off and on for over a year now and have read some of the material on this website. I have also listened to some of Steve's messages and certainly would like to hear more of them. I understand to some degree how preterists come to their conclusions. I've read some of the Jewish history concerning this time frame. I respect you all for your views and I will not close myself from hearing more. But at this time I just am not convinced that this view is the correct interpretation of what we read in the scriptures. But I'm going to keep reading and listening....and I pray that God will show me the truth if I am in error.
I also believe there will be a literal 1000 year reign of Christ on this earth and that this does not just have some sort of spiritual meaning.

God bless you.
