Does Revelation 20:2 refer to Satan being bound at the cross (ala Col. 2:15, Hebrews 2:14), or an additional binding at 70AD?
In other words, did the millennium begin around 30AD or around 70AD?
God bless,
Matthew

In my mind, I associate the binding of Satan with the time of Jesus' ministry, culminated in His cross, His resurrection and His enthronement. In some measure, the binding of Satan was occurring or had occurred during Jesus' ministry on earth (Matt.12:29), but the cross was apparently the point of decisive victory (as per the scriptures you cited).
If this view is correct, then the binding of Satan in Revelation 20 would represent the whole defeat of the enemy that was brought about through Christ's first coming, without necessarily focusing on one single event or aspect of that coming.
As for AD 70, I have not seen that event to be the subject of Revelation 20, and I would only be inclined to see the destruction of Jerusalem as a "binding" of the devil if I were to associate Satan with the apostate Jewish order. This is not impossible, in light of Revelation 2:9 and 3:9, however, where the assembly of apostate Judaism is called "the synagogue of Satan." This makes a possible theory, but not the one I currently hold.
