Theme of the Book of Revelation
Just my humble option, but I think you will find the purpose of the book in verse 1 and 4: “The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place…for the time is at hand.”
The message or theme is one of hope and comfort for those who could become discouraged as the dark clouds of persecution begin to break over them (them being primarily the first century Christian). The book clearly communicates that God has not abdicated his throne and he will triumph. So be of good cheer and don’t lose hope.
