Please explain what you mean by this. And what is "the true gospel of historic Christianity"?

The true gospel of historic christianity would be, in my mind, the gospel that Jesus and the disciples proclaimed. As far as the emergent church issues go I am leary of new viewpoints of christianity that I am unfamiliar with and am, at first, always sceptical. I am not trying to tear down in a sense, and yet in another sense I am. I am simply wanting some opinions on the emergent church movement that seems to be taking a forefront today in christiandom, if I can use that phrase. What is behind this movement?...is it of God, or a deception to lead believers astray? I do not always trust, at first, my own evaluation of a thing...that is why I am seeking other input. It does seem to be taking center stage in bookstores and discussions in christian media, if I can use that phrase also. It seems a reworking of universalism to me...JMO

Hey, you know, maybe I am the one who is missing it here. Rob Bell does pastor a huge chuch in Michigan and he has sold a lot of books and has done many interviews. He graduated from Fuller (C. Peter Wagner ring a bell?)...Perhaps I am just being a heresy hunter..."Of the writing of books there is no end"

The other thing that could happen is that the UNBORN CHILDREN OF GOD within the EMERGENT movement will have been missed by those that are arguing doctrine, thereby grieving the Holy Spirit for ignoring the FEEDING OF THE LAMBS.

Who then will recognize those that are being saved and give them milk to drink?

Well, yes. You believe that; I believe that; all o' God's chillun believe that. But just what is it that you believe the true gospel to be? Though we both believe that the true gospel is that which Jesus and his disciples proclaimed, I am not certain whether or not we have the same understanding of what that true gospel is. For it is possible that we interpret the words of Jesus and his disciples differently. Maybe not, but it is possible. So if you would state in your own words what the true gospel message is, that would help me to understand your posts.
