We know that John the Baptist "cleared the way for the Lord (Yahweh) in the wilderness; ..." Isaiah 40:3
He cleared the way for Yahweh - Jesus, our God.

The only question is in what sense he cleared the way for Yahweh - Yahweh came through the agency of his Son - I know you see things very literally but this is a fair reading on the text. Even if I were Trinitarian, I would consider Yahweh to be a reference not to the Triune God as a whole but uniquely to the Father.
