Dwight - Also, it is true that when the Holy Spirit comes upon us, that He does transform us, if we are willing to be transformed. However, Jesus did not need to be transformed - He always was holy and without sin.
Dwight, apparently Jesus needed to be transformed since He was TRANSFIGURED on the mount.
Transfigure- to transform into something more beautiful and glorious.
And He shone just like Moses who said "God will raise up a prophet like me, him you shall hear."
Speaking of Jesus, the New Testament says, "This is that Moses."
And again, when one of the disciples asked if they should raise up three houses/ tabernacles the answer was no, because the were all of the SAME SPIRIT, speaking the SAME WORD.

BTW, Messiah means messenger.

Have you noticed the first 5 days of creation and the first half of the 6th day, that God said for each day, "Let (this happen) or let (that happen)". But on the second half of day six, notice He did not say, "Let the earth bring forth man", but "LET US MAKE MAN IN OUR IMAGE, ACCORDING TO OUR LIKENESS ..GOD CREATED MAN IN HIS OWN IMAGE, IN THE IMAGE OF GOD HE CREATED HIM; MALE AND FEMALE HE CREATED THEM."

1. Let there be light
2. Let there be an expanse
3. Let the dry land appear and let the earth sprout vegetation
4. Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens
5. Let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures and let birds fly above the earth
6. Let the earth bring forth living creatures

So who are "US" and "OUR"?

Also notice He created MAN (singular),... He created HIM (singular), yet it says, "male and female He created THEM (plural). Genesis 1:27

So man is BOTH SINGULAR AND PLURAL, CREATED IN GOD'S IMAGE.

Also Genesis 11:7 - God says: "Let US go down and there confuse their language ..."

Therefore, God also must be singular and yet plural at the same time.

We also know that man is body, soul, and spirit - three parts Hebrews 4:12. And we are made in the image of God.

Some by the soul understand the natural and unregenerate part in man, and by the spirit the renewed and regenerate part, which though sometimes are not so easily distinguished by men, yet they are by Christ. (John Gill's Expositor)
Paidion

Man judges a person by his past deeds, and administers penalties for his wrongdoing. God judges a person by his present character, and disciplines him that he may become righteous.

Not all Christians believe in the dualistic view of soul/spirit -- it is certainly not something plainly taught in scripture. I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other. But, regarding the Hebrews passage, why do you not believe man is body, soul, spirit, thoughts and attitudes ? More could be proven by your logic.

Because the Hebrews passage does not mention thoughts and attitudes. You could throw in emotions, moods, and probably more, but none of those are mentioned.

I'm not sure what translation you're using, but most have words to that effect.

But no one has answered the question: Who are "Us" and "Our"?

That's a pretty well-worn issue and very few mainstream trinitarian theologians make much of it today as a proof for trinitarianism.

This post discusses a variety of the views... Among the leading views are: (1) plural of majesty; (2) trinity; (3) the heavenly court

https://www.biblicalunitarian.com/artic ... s-make-man

NET translation comments may be more respectable for you.... NIV has similar notes.

The plural form of the verb has been the subject of much discussion through the years, and not surprisingly several suggestions have been put forward. Many Christian theologians interpret it as an early hint of plurality within the Godhead, but this view imposes later trinitarian concepts on the ancient text. Some have suggested the plural verb indicates majesty, but the plural of majesty is not used with verbs. C. Westermann (Genesis, 1:145) argues for a plural of “deliberation” here, but his proposed examples of this use (2 Sam 24:14; Isa 6:8) do not actually support his theory. In 2 Sam 24:14 David uses the plural as representative of all Israel, and in Isa 6:8 the Lord speaks on behalf of his heavenly court. In its ancient Israelite context the plural is most naturally understood as referring to God and his heavenly court (see 1 Kgs 22:19-22; Job 1:6-12; 2:1-6; Isa 6:1-8). (The most well-known members of this court are God’s messengers, or angels. In Gen 3:5 the serpent may refer to this group as “gods/divine beings.” See the note on the word “evil” in 3:5.) If this is the case, God invites the heavenly court to participate at the creation of humankind (perhaps in the role of offering praise, see Job 38:7), but he himself is the one who does the actual creative work (v. 27). Of course, this view does assume that the members of the heavenly court possess the divine “image” in some way. Since the image is closely associated with rulership, perhaps they share the divine image in that they, together with God and under his royal authority, are the executive authority over the world.

The article is obviously written with a non-Trinitarian bias. You cannot rule out the possibility that God was speaking to the other persons in the Godhead.
