Holiness Doctrines - Leviticus 19

Post by rammac13 » Tue Apr 21, 2009 10:42 am

Correct me if this statement is Wrong. Not everything in Leviticus 19 is a sin for those under the new covenant but for those under the old covenant the laws here are sin. Do we still need to follow these laws? Are these only a sin in the context that they are being written - for a people that were to be different than their neighbors the Egyptians and Canaanites? How do we distiguish what we are still to follow and what not to?

There are generally two ways to look at Old Testament laws.
1) Under the new covenant we are free from all the old covenant laws except where Jesus (NT) specifically stated otherwise.
2) All the old covenant laws are still in effect unless Jesus (NT) specifically stated otherwise.

I tend toward the first option.
