Steve,

I'm curious to know if in your opinion, there are any OT prophecies yet to be fulfilled. What I mean is, do you think the second coming of Christ was prophesied at all in the Prophets? If so, where?

I wanted to come back to this passage.

At the time Zacharias was prophesying, Jesus had not yet been born and thus had not suffered, died and rose again from the dead. The redemptive work of the cross had not yet been done. This means that Zacharias (while having one eye on the fact that Jesus had indeed been incarnated in Mary's womb) was referring mainly to events which were yet future to him.

Okay, so what is it about this prophecy that you think requires us to look no further than "the cross"?

Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

I know this is only one verse but to me it would seem to impy that the old testament prophecies were all fulfilled in Jesus.
