Hi Steve,

I saw this film about a year ago! It is profoundly moving.

Thanks for providing a link to it!

Danny, thank you for posting the video.

I was so struck by what I saw happen to that school girl that I had to pause the video for a while. I'm amazed at their living conditions.

Hi Steve,

Yes, the scene with the schoolgirl was very disturbing. I was amazed at how the film crew managed to be in the places they were and witness the events that they did.

That link you provided looks like it's going to keep me busy for weeks to come! Here's another documentary that I watched tonight. It has no narrative. All the filming takes place are various Israeli checkpoints. I found it strangely poignant.

Hi Danny,

Quote: "Yesterday I was leading a Bible study on John 1:1-18. We looked at the various words John applied to Jesus: Logos, Light, Truth, Grace, etc. As we concluded, I asked if anyone had any other questions. One of the guys raised his hand and asked, "So, what does 666 mean?" Someone else said, "Yeah, and who is the Beast in Revelation?".

If you were exposed to Hal Lindsey devotees back in the 70's, "Late Great Planet Earth", you know many Christians became pre-occupied with 'end time' stuff. 'Left Behind' eschatology is imo, a carry over from that era.

Rather than divide with people about these end time issues, what I have found that works for me and really ends the 'diversions' that sometimes can happen in bible studies, is what I explained to my sister
when she began 'worrying' over all this stuff; 'Look I said, there are different beliefs regarding the 2nd coming of Christ. This is only one view.
(dispensational eschatology).

What is important for you to remember, the 'end of this world' for you and I is when we die. That is a fact we can all agree on. So my question to you is, where do you stand now with Jesus"? 'Left Behind', was well, left behind in our conversation....

My 2 cents anyway,
In Jesus,
Bob

Danny, thanks for posting that. It was very interesting and timely. About a week ago, coincidently, I watched a documentary titled "The Other Zionists". It was about a group of Jewish women who are concerned about the humiliation, injustice and difficulties faced by Palestinians at checkpoints. As a result, they often show up at check points to try and make sure Palestinians are treated with fairness. Unfortunately, I don't think it's available on the internet but here is a short clip

By the way, this is sort of related. Have you ever seen the Frontline documentary titled "Israel's Next War?"? It's about a small group (extreme religious right) that are not only a threat to the Palestinians but to the state of Israel itself. Here's the link.
